🌊 We believe that life is like surfing — it’s about choosing the right waves, embracing the ebb and flow, and riding with confidence, no matter how unpredictable the journey may be. Every wave presents an opportunity to grow, learn, and move forward, just as every challenge we face in life can be a chance to build resilience and strength.
On the second day of the festival, we came together to build a safe and inspiring sisterhood through transformative activities and empowering classes. These moments allowed us to reconnect with our inner peace, embrace self-love, and rediscover our confidence — equipping us to ride life’s waves with strength, purpose, and unwavering energy.
The early morning began with an uplifting beach plogging event at Songjeong Beach, as the rising sun painted a picturesque backdrop for a meaningful act of empowerment. A community of women came together, bound by a shared purpose to protect the beauty of Busan’s shoreline. This gathering was far more than an environmental initiative—it was a profound testament to the strength and unity of women joining forces to achieve a common vision.
Supported by the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center, participants were equipped with specially curated plogging kits, including gloves and bags, to ensure a meaningful and effective cleanup. This collaboration underscored the importance of community-driven action and the pivotal role women play in leading efforts for a cleaner, more sustainable future.
As the group moved along the beach, picking up trash and micro plastics, their actions became a symbolic gesture of resilience and unity. Each piece of litter removed was a reminder that even the smallest actions can spark significant change.
Together, they weren’t just cleaning a beach—they were amplifying their voices in the global movement for sustainability and gender equality. Through this shared experience, the women built a safe and inspiring sisterhood, demonstrating the power of collective effort in shaping a better world for future travelers and communities alike.
Following the invigorating beach plogging session, participants gathered for a deeply transformative experience: Gong and Sound Bath Yoga session led by the inspiring Isabel Kwak.
As the resonant tones of large gongs filled the air, the space was transformed into a sanctuary of calm and empowerment. Each Nomadher was invited to release the weight of the outside world and reconnect with the strength and wisdom within. The soothing vibrations carried participants into a meditative state, opening the door to emotional balance and profound healing.
Guided by Isabel Kwak’s nurturing expertise, they rediscovered their inner rhythm, reclaimed their power, and embraced a deep sense of peace.
This was an experience of transformation, where every breath became a moment of self-discovery, and every sound a reminder of the resilience and confidence that lie within. It was about more than movement or meditation—it was about tapping into the core of self-love and clarity, empowering each woman to see her boundless potential.
As the session concluded, participants carried forward a renewed sense of strength and purpose. Inspired by the harmony they had found, they left with hearts full of courage and minds clear with determination. It was a celebration of the power within, a reminder that each woman has the strength to embrace life’s challenges and rise with confidence and grace.
The Muay Thai session led by the dynamic Timea was a perfect mix of fun, empowerment, and sisterhood. As a location-independent entrepreneur, certified instructor, and Hungarian National Champion, Timea brought her passion and energy to the NomadHer Festival, turning the class into one of the unforgettable highlights of the day.
Timea’s journey into Muay Thai began as a solo traveler looking for self-defense skills, and it evolved into a life-changing passion. “Teaching Muay Thai to the NomadHer community felt like everything I’ve done in my life had led to this moment,” she shared. “Seeing these amazing women throw their first jab-cross, cheering each other on, gave me goosebumps.”
The class itself was electrifying, full of energy, and so much fun. Participants eagerly threw punches, practiced kicks, and laughed as they learned defensive techniques. The lively atmosphere was contagious, with the group cheering for one another and celebrating even the smallest victories. For many, it was their first time trying Muay Thai, but Timea’s approachable style and enthusiasm made the experience accessible and exciting for everyone.
“It was amazing to see the group let loose and have fun while learning something new and empowering,” Timea said. “Each punch and kick wasn’t just about self-defense—it was a reminder of the strength and confidence these women carry within themselves.”
What made the session truly special was the sense of achievement it brought. Participants walked away with practical self-defense skills that made them feel more prepared and confident for their solo journeys. But beyond the techniques, they gained a deeper understanding of their inner strength and resilience. The camaraderie in the room was palpable, creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone felt uplifted and inspired.
“The energy was incredible,” Timea added. “We laughed, we learned, and we grew together. It was a class filled with positivity and joy, and by the end, you could see how empowered everyone felt—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.”
Reflecting on the festival, Timea shared her gratitude for the community. “The NomadHer Festival exceeded all my expectations. I’ve been to many events, but rarely do I find such an open and inspiring group of women. From the Muay Thai class to surfing and K-pop dancing, every moment was about coming together to build a supportive sisterhood.”
By the end of the session, participants not only mastered new moves but also unlocked a renewed sense of confidence and self-belief. The experience reminded them that with the right tools—and a little fun along the way—they could conquer any challenge on their travels and in life.
Timea summed it up best: “Together, we can create safe spaces—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—wherever our journeys take us. I’m so grateful to have shared this moment with such an incredible group of women, and I know the connections we built will inspire us all to keep striving for more.”
The Muay Thai class wasn’t just about learning—it was about achieving something meaningful while having fun, connecting with others, and embracing the joy of shared experiences. It left every participant feeling stronger, braver, and ready to take on the world.
After lunch, the NomadHer Festival welcomed participants into the vibrant world of K-Pop Dance, an exhilarating session that immersed everyone in the heartbeat of South Korea's global music culture. Led by GROUP H, a collective of expert K-Pop choreographers and dancers, the class was designed to ignite creativity, boost self-assurance, and connect participants to the empowering language of movement.
The session kicked off with an electrifying live performance, setting the tone for what was to come. As the upbeat rhythm of New Jeans' “How Sweet” pulsed through the speakers, energy surged in the room, sparking excitement and anticipation. Without missing a beat, participants dove into the choreography, learning a mix of fluid and sharp movements that characterize K-Pop’s signature style.
For the next 40 minutes, the space was filled with enthusiasm as attendees not only learned the choreography but also embraced the confidence that comes from stepping out of their comfort zones. The choreography wasn’t just about precision; it was about expression—allowing each individual to channel their personal flair into the moves.
GROUP H provided clear, supportive guidance throughout, ensuring that even those with no prior dance experience felt empowered to fully engage. As the steps fell into place, it became clear that K-Pop is much more than just a genre—it’s a mindset, a form of self-expression that encourages you to own the moment and shine on your own terms.
The atmosphere was electric. Each movement was a bold statement of empowerment—an invitation to break free from inhibition and express oneself unapologetically.
By the end of the session, NomadHers had not only learned a high-energy routine but had tapped into their own confidence and creativity, leaving the room with a newfound sense of self-assurance.
As the sun began its gentle descent, casting a warm glow over Songjeong Beach, the final class of the day invited the NomadHers to connect with the ocean and each other in a transformative group surfing session. Anticipation and excitement filled the air as participants gathered on the sand to begin their journey.
The session started with small group lessons led by Naeun Kim, one of Busan’s most celebrated female surfers, and her team of 10 dedicated instructors. On the beach, the women practiced the fundamentals of surfing—how to position themselves on the board, find balance, and stand with confidence.
The instructors shared expert tips and personalized guidance, ensuring that everyone, regardless of skill level, felt prepared and supported. The laughter and camaraderie during this practice session set the tone for the evening as participants encouraged one another and enjoyed the process of learning something new.
Once the basics were covered, it was time to head to the water. Boards in hand, the women walked toward the shimmering waves, their excitement palpable. For some, the ocean represented a challenge to overcome, while for others, it symbolized a chance to reconnect with nature and themselves.
As they paddled out, the first few attempts were met with splashes, falls, and plenty of laughter. But with each wave, confidence grew. The instructors stayed close, offering words of encouragement and hands-on support, while the women onshore cheered for every attempt. When someone finally caught their first wave, the cheers erupted, turning personal victories into a celebration for everyone.
“I fell so many times, but I never felt embarrassed,” one participant shared. “Every time I got back up, someone was there cheering me on. It was so inspiring to feel that kind of support.”
The group’s energy was contagious, and the ocean echoed with their laughter and joy. NomadHers who were initially hesitant found themselves standing on their boards, riding the waves with determination and exhilaration. Others, unbothered by falling, relished the freedom and fun of the moment. The instructors continued to guide, ensuring that every woman felt safe and empowered, no matter where she was in her journey.
As the session progressed, the beach became a hub of shared triumphs. A first successful ride, a graceful fall, a newfound courage—each moment was celebrated. The ocean seemed to mirror the women’s strength and resilience, its waves offering both challenge and opportunity.
Walking back to shore as the session came to a close, participants were beaming. Some shared hugs, others swapped stories of their first waves or funniest falls, but all carried a shared sense of accomplishment.
The Sunset Group Surfing Adventure was more than a class—it was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when women come together. It captured the essence of the NomadHer community: women uplifting one another, finding joy in shared experiences, and embracing challenges with courage and grace.
By the end of the day, the women walked away not just with surfing skills, but with a deeper connection to themselves and each other. They had faced their fears, fallen and risen, and found strength in their collective sisterhood.
Day 2 of the NomadHer Festival was a powerful celebration of life’s journey, where the waves became a symbol of resilience, courage, and hope. Like surfing, life is about seeking the right waves, navigating challenges, and rising stronger after every fall. On the water, each triumph was met with cheers of encouragement, a reminder that sisterhood makes us unstoppable.
Every shared smile, conversation, and moment of connection reminded us of the incredible strength we hold when we stand together. This wasn’t just a day of adventure—it was a call to live boldly, to face life’s waves with courage, and to believe in the infinite possibilities within us all.
