NomadHer, the global community app empowering women through solo travel, and Japan Airlines (JAL), a premier global carrier, announced an official partnership to champion safe, inclusive global travel and female empowerment. The collaboration brought together members of the NomadHer community for an exclusive, high-energy match day experience supporting Liverpool FC Women.

The initiative, developed in alignment with Japan Airlines’ role as Official Airline Partner of Liverpool Football Club, invited NomadHer community members to participate in a curated travel and sports experience centered around connection, confidence, and cultural exchange.
To bring this to life, two NomadHer content creators were selected through an open community call to document their solo journeys to London aboard Japan Airlines. Six additional community members joined them via an exclusive giveaway, uniting in Liverpool for an unforgettable experience.
For solo female travelers, the journey itself is just as important as the destination. The two featured NomadHer creators began their adventure long before takeoff at the JAL Sakura Lounge. Designed as a serene sanctuary, the lounge offered these solo travelers a secure, sophisticated space to reset and refresh — providing a welcoming environment to relax, safely recharge, and catch up on work before their flight.
This seamless transition from the ground to the air is where Japan Airlines’ philosophy of Omotenashi — also known as authentic Japanese hospitality — truly shines, extending that same sense of a safe harbor from the lounge straight into the cabin.

Flying solo across continents and multiple time zones can be physically and mentally daunting, making the attentiveness of the crew crucial during a long-haul journey. JAL’s exceptionally observant crew is trained to anticipate needs before they are even voiced — whether it’s offering a timely refreshment or ensuring a quiet cabin environment — providing solo female travelers with a profound sense of security and peace of mind through hours of travel. Combined with award-winning cabin comfort, spacious seating designed for true privacy, and thoughtfully curated inflight dining, the creators documented how JAL transforms an exhausting long-haul flight into a rejuvenating, stress-free experience. Instead of feeling drained by the distance, they arrived in the UK feeling refreshed, empowered, and ready to connect.
On 16 May 2026, the group of eight women gathered at Anfield Stadium for a behind-the-scenes stadium tour, a visit to the Liverpool FC Museum, and to watch the Liverpool FC Women's match live. For several in the group, it was their very first time experiencing the electric atmosphere of a football stadium. Yet, despite coming from different corners of the globe, the roaring energy of the crowds and the shared excitement of the game sparked an almost instant connection among them.

"As a Muslim woman, this was a fantastic first NomadHer event where I could join a safely co-ordinated football match," shared Rabia Begum. Her experience beautifully captures how thoughtful planning can make all the difference. For many women from diverse cultural backgrounds, stepping into a massive stadium for the first time can feel a bit overwhelming. By bringing this group together in a supportive, female-led space, NomadHer and Japan Airlines helped everyone feel completely at ease, turning a bustling match day into an inclusive celebration where everyone felt they belonged.
The partnership highlights a shared commitment between NomadHer and Japan Airlines to foster inclusive global communities. JAL’s world-class service and seamless travel network perfectly complement NomadHer’s mission to provide a safe global network for women exploring the world. By bringing these independent female travelers together, both brands successfully showcased how modern travel can break down cultural barriers and create opportunities for women to connect.

"We are incredibly proud to partner with a world-class brand like Japan Airlines for this project," said Hyojeong Kim, CEO and Founder of NomadHer. "Sport, much like travel, is a powerful universal language that breaks down barriers and builds deep confidence in women. Seeing our community members connect, travel from different corners of the world thanks to Japan Airlines' support and stand together to cheer on the incredible athletes of Liverpool FC Women embodies exactly what NomadHer stands for: empowering women to explore their boundaries and lift each other up."

"At Japan Airlines, one of our core missions is connecting people, cultures, and communities," said Akane Wakamura, Director & Head of Global Marketing Communications, Asia at Japan Airlines. "Partnering with NomadHer and Liverpool FC is a natural extension of that commitment. We believe that both travel and sport possess the unique power to break down barriers and inspire confidence, opening up new possibilities along the way. Through this initiative, we are dedicated to empowering female travelers — providing them not just with a safe and comfortable journey, but also inspiring them to explore the world fearlessly and chart their own course."

Japan Airlines’ collaboration with NomadHer underscores a shared belief that the most profound journeys are those that connect us across cultures. By bringing these solo travelers together at Anfield, the partnership beautifully mirrored the very essence of independent travel: stepping into unfamiliar spaces with confidence, embracing new communities, and finding common ground. Whether navigating a new city alone or cheering from the stands, both sport and travel serve as powerful catalysts for personal growth and multicultural connection.
Ultimately, the match day served as a vibrant celebration of confidence and community, bringing NomadHer’s core mission to life on a grand scale. It highlighted a powerful truth: that every woman deserves the support, safety, and freedom to fearlessly pursue her passions — whether she is travelling independently across a new destination, or competing at the highest level in sport.
